Farmer Maggie
Well Maggie Mae has been a busy little bee on the Helms compound. It's vegetable time again, and everyday like clockwork, Maggie goes outside with us to help pick the veggies. Yesterday however, she decided to try her hand at being a little cowgirl, and tried to herd all of the cows in the field next to our house. It didn't go so well, they just got mad and started running at her. Better luck next time Maggie, maybe with a little more practice she can be a little cow doggie. She is giving all the squirrels around my house major hell though! (Although we haven't figured out yet that they go UP the trees-- they just seem to disappear).

Camp Canine
Jeremy and I have been luchy enough to get to come to Charleston, SC on a whim for the fourth...mainly because Jeremy's parents are nice enough to keep our puppies, why I am not really sure. We stopped in Decatur Sunday night to drop off the dogs and grab some dinner. The dogs went to play outside while we were eating. When we got up to say good bye to the dogs we discovered a very DIRTY dog!!! Izzy had found the one mud puddle in the back yard and rolled around in it. So we left with Izzy and Jeremy's mom in the bathroom with Iz getting a bath. I had never seen such a dirty puppy!

Quiet as a Mouse
NOTE: Jeremy and I are keeping Nora while Deenie is out of town.
So the other night, Jeremy and I were looking at our wedding pictures that had finally been posted online. We were in our guest room which is directly across from our hall bathroom. Izzy and Hatfield were sleeping on our bed while we were looking at them. After calling Nora a couple of times with no response, Jeremy and I assumed Nora was sleeping in the living room in one of her beds. After about 45 minutes of picture perusing we returned to the living room to find:

She was quiet as a mouse we did not hear her carefully unrol every bit of toilet paper AND carry it into the living room AND shed it. She is awfully sneaky!

A Note From Nora
Hey Aunt Kate, just a note to check in, when you came to get me I sort of figured that I had a pretty good gig going. I knew that I would have a nice place to live, (wasn't figuring on the C-A-T but we're working it out) enough to eat, some toys, but what you didn't tell me about was CHEESE STRAW CRUMBS!!! OMG, We (Deenie and me) made some amazing Cheese Straws tonight, and I am a pro. After growling at the processor, (just to show it who was boss,) and having an absolute come apart at the pre-heating oven, I realized how fun this cooking thing could be, crumbs being the best! I peed in the den but who's perfect. Later, Nora
